Intermediate

In the Intermediate classrooms your child will learn, discover, and create in an atmosphere that fosters children’s natural desire to experience learning. There are planned activities that build fine motor, gross motor and socialization skills. A typical morning begins with a homemade breakfast followed by a teacher initiated group time. Our morning rotations consist of teaching God's love and Christian character through devotions, a themed activity that changes monthly, a choice of one of the various interest areas, and academic concepts.

Children can choose to lead in prayer before meals, and are given the opportunity to serve their own food and pour their own milk to build self help skills. During our outdoor time we choose from one of several play areas where teachers supervise while interacting with the children to enhance gross motor skills. A nutritious snack is served after a daily rest time, followed by outdoor play and classroom center time.

Our monthly themes include All About Me, Safety, Forest, Transportation, Insects, Desert, Jungle, Community Helpers, and Summer Fun. Decorations and interactive centers around the classrooms change monthly to bring our themes to life. This allows your children to have variety, keeping learning fun with a sense of adventure where the children can participate with their environment through hands on experience.

We have also developed age appropriate goals, which include name recognition, spelling of names, colors, numbers, letters, shapes, and more. We provide parents progress reports throughout the school year that document their child’s growth and development. The Intermediate classrooms focus on the development and growth of each child in a fun and comfortable environment that will stimulate your child’s ever growing curiosity about God's world around them.
