Meet Claudia Diaz-Hinojos

Inspiring Wonder Through Creative Teaching

With bright eyes and a contagious enthusiasm, Claudia Diaz brings a special energy to each day at A Child’s Touch. As Lead Teacher and Team Lead for our two-year-old, three-year-old, and primary age groups, she transforms ordinary learning moments into extraordinary opportunities for growth and discovery. Her 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and more than 9,000 hours working directly with children have given her a unique insight into how young minds develop and flourish.

Children in Claudia’s care don’t just learn—they thrive. Her classrooms buzz with purpose and joy as little ones engage in activities that feel like play but lay essential foundations for future learning. When a toddler successfully identifies shapes in nature or a preschooler proudly writes their first letter, Claudia’s genuine celebration of these milestones reflects her deep understanding that these moments are sacred stepping stones in a child’s God-given journey of growth.

Relationships at the Heart of Learning

“Building strong relationships is the foundation of everything we do,” Claudia explains when asked about her teaching philosophy. This perspective perfectly aligns with her belief that children learn best in environments where they feel completely secure and valued. Her natural ability to connect with each child—kneeling to their level, truly listening to their thoughts, and responding with warmth—creates the emotional safety that allows young explorers to take risks and embrace new challenges.

Parents consistently notice the difference in their children after joining Claudia’s classroom. Shy children gradually blossom with newfound confidence, reluctant learners develop genuine enthusiasm for discovery, and all children experience the joy of being truly known and appreciated for their unique qualities. These transformations don’t happen by accident—they’re the result of Claudia’s intentional approach to building trust and nurturing the whole child, body, mind, and spirit. Her commitment to these relationships extends to families as well, creating partnerships that support each child’s development both at our center and at home.

Bringing Learning to Life Through Creativity

Self-described as “fun, creative and energetic,” Claudia brings a refreshing vibrancy to early childhood education that captures children’s imagination and fosters a genuine love for learning. Her innovative “twist on learning” approach ensures that even routine activities become memorable adventures that children eagerly anticipate. Counting practice transforms into a nature scavenger hunt on our grounds, letter recognition evolves into a sensory experience, and science concepts come alive through hands-on exploration.

This creative methodology perfectly complements our center’s nature-based learning philosophy and faith-centered approach. By connecting classroom concepts with real-world experiences on our three-acre facility, Claudia helps children develop deeper understanding of both academic concepts and spiritual truths in ways that feel natural and joyful. Her classroom becomes a place where wonder and curiosity flourish, where questions are valued as much as answers, and where children discover the delight of learning something new each day. Through Claudia’s eyes, children see that learning isn’t just about absorbing information—it’s about discovering the incredible world God has created.

Nature’s Classroom: Learning Beyond Four Walls

When not guiding young learners at A Child’s Touch, Claudia spends much of her free time outdoors with her own family. This personal passion for nature enriches her teaching approach as she seamlessly integrates our center’s emphasis on outdoor learning into daily activities. From examining tiny insects on the playground to collecting natural materials for art projects, she helps children develop a deep appreciation for the world around them while building essential cognitive and motor skills.

“I’ve always believed children learn best when they can connect with the natural world,” Claudia shares with genuine conviction. This philosophy shapes her teaching methods as she utilizes our outdoor classrooms and expansive grounds as extensions of the indoor learning environment. Whether guiding toddlers through sensory explorations in our garden spaces or helping preschoolers observe seasonal changes in our trees, Claudia creates meaningful connections between classroom concepts and God’s creation. Her enthusiasm for crafting also enriches these experiences, inspiring children to express themselves creatively while developing fine motor skills essential for later academic success.

Guided by Purpose and Faith

The personal motto that guides Claudia’s approach—”Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself”—reflects the growth mindset she instills in every child. Rather than viewing development as a fixed path, she helps children see themselves as active participants in their own learning journey, encouraging them to embrace challenges with confidence and resilience. This perspective aligns beautifully with Christian teachings about discovering and developing one’s unique gifts and purpose.

Claudia’s approach perfectly embodies our center’s core values of Faith, Honesty, Respect, Fun, and Creative Curiosity. By modeling these principles daily, she helps children develop not just academic readiness but also character foundations that will serve them throughout life. Her natural ability to weave faith concepts into everyday conversations—from expressing gratitude for a beautiful day to practicing kindness with friends—ensures that children receive nurturing that addresses their spiritual development alongside their cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth.

A Shepherd’s Heart at A Child’s Touch

Claudia’s impact at our center extends beyond her classroom walls. As Team Lead, she mentors other teachers with a servant’s heart, sharing best practices and fostering collaboration that benefits all children in our care. Her leadership helps ensure consistent implementation of our comprehensive curriculum across age groups, creating a seamless educational experience from infancy through kindergarten preparation. Her impressive qualifications—including specialized certifications in CPR/First Aid, Equity in Early Childhood Education, Pyramid Model for Social-Emotional Development, and her Child Development Associate credential—strengthen our entire program.

What truly makes Claudia an invaluable part of A Child’s Touch isn’t just her professional expertise, but her genuine love for children and her passion for early education as a ministry. She views each day as an opportunity to make a lasting difference in young lives, approaching her role with both professionalism and heartfelt dedication. Whether utilizing our on-site children’s museum to maximize learning opportunities or incorporating our faith-based values into daily interactions, Claudia exemplifies what makes our center special. The children in her care don’t just develop academic skills—they experience the joy of learning within a community that nurtures their spirit and celebrates their unique journey of growth.
